About the Treatment

Smooth deep lines and restore youthful volume with nasal fold & marionette line filler

As we age, the natural loss of collagen and elasticity can lead to the development of deeper lines around the nose and mouth, known as nasolabial folds and marionette lines. Dermal fillers offer a non-surgical solution to smooth these lines and restore facial volume, creating a refreshed and rejuvenated appearance.

At Smooth Dimensions, our Advanced Aesthetic Nurse, Fiona Mahandru, specialises in tailoring treatments to address these specific areas. By carefully restoring volume and smoothing lines, Fiona ensures natural, balanced results that enhance your features.

Can these fillers be combined with other treatments?

Yes, fillers for nasolabial folds and marionette lines can be combined with other treatments such as cheek fillers or Botox® for enhanced results.

Does the treatment hurt?

Most patients experience minimal discomfort. Numbing cream can be applied before the treatment to ensure comfort.

How do dermal fillers treat these areas?

Dermal fillers add volume beneath the skin to smooth lines and restore youthful contours around the nose and mouth.

How long do the results last?

Results typically last 12 – 18 months, depending on the type of filler used and individual factors such as metabolism.

How long does the treatment take?

The treatment typically takes 30 – 45 minutes, making it a quick and convenient option.

How much does the treatment cost?

Is there any downtime?

There is little to no downtime. Most patients resume normal activities immediately, although it's advised to avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours. You may experience some swelling, redness, and bruising at the injection sites, which typically subside within a few days.

Is there anything I need to do before my treatment?

To minimise bruising, swelling, and complications, avoid the following before your appointment:

7 days before treatment:

  • Ibuprofen, naproxen, and other NSAIDs.
  • Alcohol – increases the risk of bruising and swelling.
  • Omega-3 & vitamin E  – can thin the blood and increase bruising.
  • Herbal supplements, especially Ginkgo Biloba, St. John’s Wort, and Ginseng – increases the risk of bruising.

24 to 48 hours before treatment:

  • Caffeine – can increase sensitivity and bruising risk.
  • Intense exercise – can increase blood flow and worsen swelling or bruising.

On the day of treatment:

  • Arrive makeup-free if possible.
  • Stay hydrated and eat a light meal to prevent feeling lightheaded.
  • Avoid alcohol and excessive caffeine.

If you are prone to bruising, Arnica supplements may help when taken a few days before treatment.

What are nasolabial folds and marionette lines?

Nasolabial folds are lines that run from the sides of the nose to the mouth, while marionette lines run downward from the mouth corners to the chin.

When will I see results?

Results are visible immediately after the procedure, with optimal results appearing as swelling subsides within a few days.
