About
Cheek Filler

Define and enhance your natural beauty with cheek filler

Over time, the natural ageing process can lead to volume loss in the cheeks, causing the midface to appear sunken or flat. Cheek filler is a non-surgical solution that uses hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers to restore volume, lift the midface, and enhance cheek contours. This treatment creates a youthful, sculpted appearance while maintaining natural proportions.

At Smooth Dimensions, our Advanced Aesthetic Nurse, Fiona Mahandru, specialises in cheek filler treatments, offering a personalised approach to achieving balanced, natural-looking results. During your consultation, Fiona will assess your facial structure and recommend the best treatment plan for your goals.

Treatment FAQs

Frequently asked questions

How long do the results last?

Results typically last 12 – 18 months, depending on the type of filler used and individual factors such as metabolism.

What are cheek fillers?

Cheek fillers are injectable treatments made of hyaluronic acid that restore volume, lift the midface, and define the cheekbones.

When will I see results?

Results are visible immediately after the procedure, with optimal results appearing as swelling subsides within a few days.

Is the treatment safe?

Yes, dermal fillers are safe when administered by a qualified professional such as our Advanced Aesthetic Nurse, Fiona Mahandru.

How long does the procedure take?

The treatment typically takes 30 – 45 minutes.

Does the treatment hurt?

Most patients experience minimal discomfort. Numbing cream can be applied before the procedure to ensure comfort.

Are there side effects?

Mild side effects such as redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection site are common but typically resolve within a few days.

Can cheek fillers be combined with other treatments?

Yes, cheek fillers can be combined with other treatments such as other dermal fillers, Botox®, skin boosters or polynucleotides for comprehensive facial rejuvenation.

How much does the treatment cost?

Pricing at Smooth Dimensions varies depending on the amount of filler required. A consultation will provide an accurate price but guidance can be found above.

Is there any downtime?

There is little to no downtime. Most patients resume normal activities immediately, although it's advised to avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours. You may experience some swelling, redness, and bruising at the injection sites, which typically subside within a few days.

Is there anything I need to do before my treatment?

To minimise bruising, swelling, and complications, avoid the following before your appointment:

7 days before treatment:

  • Ibuprofen, naproxen, and other NSAIDs.
  • Alcohol – increases the risk of bruising and swelling.
  • Omega-3 & vitamin E  – can thin the blood and increase bruising.
  • Herbal supplements, especially Ginkgo Biloba, St. John’s Wort, and Ginseng – increases the risk of bruising.

24 to 48 hours before treatment:

  • Caffeine – can increase sensitivity and bruising risk.
  • Intense exercise – can increase blood flow and worsen swelling or bruising.

On the day of treatment:

  • Arrive makeup-free if possible.
  • Stay hydrated and eat a light meal to prevent feeling lightheaded.
  • Avoid alcohol and excessive caffeine.

If you are prone to bruising, Arnica supplements may help when taken a few days before treatment.
