Introduction
Tear Trough Filler in Essex
This under-eye filler treatment is designed to restore volume beneath tear trough hollows, creating a smoother transition between the lower eyelid and cheek.
Treatment Overview
What Is a Tear Trough?
The tear trough is the groove that runs from the inner corner of the eye towards the upper cheek. Some people naturally have a more noticeable hollow, while others develop one as facial tissues change with age.
The hollow can create a shadow beneath the eyes, making the area appear darker, sunken or tired looking, even when you feel well rested.

How it works
How Does Tear Trough Filler Work?
Tear trough filler uses hyaluronic acid dermal filler to restore a small amount of volume beneath the under-eye hollow. The aim is not to create obvious fullness.
Careful treatment can soften the hollow and improve the transition between the lower eyelid and cheek, producing subtle and natural-looking tear trough rejuvenation. Results are visible immediately, although swelling can affect the early appearance.
Who Is Not Suitable for Tear Trough Filler?
Tear trough filler is not recommended for every patient. It may be unsuitable if you have prominent eye bags, fluid retention, malar swelling, significant loose skin or puffiness beneath the eyes. Patients with thin or crepey under-eye skin may benefit more from a regenerative skin treatment such as polynucleotides or Sunekos. Your practitioner will assess the cause of your concern before recommending treatment.
What Can Under-Eye Filler Improve?
Tear trough filler may be suitable for:
Genuine under-eye hollowing
Age-related under-eye volume loss
Shadowing caused by a deep tear trough
A sunken or tired-looking appearance
An uneven transition between the lower eyelid and cheek
More radiant looking under-eye area
Filler may improve darkness when it is caused by shadowing from a hollow. It will not reliably correct brown pigmentation, visible blood vessels or naturally darker skin beneath the eyes.
Consultation
Your Tear Trough Filler Consultation and Prices
Your consultation will include a review of your medical history, medication, previous injectable treatments and under-eye concerns. Your practitioner will assess your facial anatomy, skin quality, hollowing and any existing puffiness.
The likely benefits, limitations, side effects and alternative treatments will be explained before you decide whether to proceed.
Tear trough filler costs £350 at Smooth Dimensions.
The amount required will depend on your anatomy and treatment plan. A conservative treatment may be recommended rather than trying to achieve a complete correction in one appointment.

The Treatment Process
What happens during treatment?
The under-eye area will be cleaned before the filler is administered. Treatment is deliberately conservative because the skin beneath the eyes is thin and small changes can be noticeable. Your appointment will take approximately 45 minutes.
Temporary swelling, tenderness, redness or bruising can occur. You will receive personalised aftercare advice before leaving the clinic.

When will I see results?
An improvement may be visible immediately, but swelling can temporarily change the appearance of the area.
The final result becomes clearer as swelling settles and the filler integrates with the surrounding tissue. Tear trough filler typically lasts around 12 to 24 months, although longevity varies between patients.
