Introduction
Rosacea and Redness Treatment Essex
Treatment is delivered using Iris Dye-VL on the Alma Harmony platform. It uses targeted pulses of light to reduce the appearance of facial redness, visible blood vessels and rosacea-related flushing.
The treatment is designed to help the complexion appear clearer, calmer and more even.
Treatment Overview
What causes Rosacea and Facial redness?
Rosacea is a long-term skin condition that primarily affects the face. It may cause flushing, persistent redness, visible blood vessels, sensitivity and, in some patients, inflammatory bumps or eye symptoms. Rosacea cannot currently be cured, but its visible signs and other symptoms can be managed.
Facial redness can also be associated with:
- Thread veins and broken capillaries
- Sun exposure
- Temperature changes
- Sensitive or reactive skin
- Alcohol, spicy foods and hot drinks
- Exercise and stress
- Previous inflammation or skin damage
Your practitioner will assess the pattern and likely cause of your redness before recommending treatment.

How it works
How does IPL work for Rosacea?
IPL uses a narrow band of intense pulsed light that is absorbed by haemoglobin in superficial blood vessels.
The light creates controlled heat within the vessel, helping it gradually fade while limiting the effect on the surrounding skin.
What can Rosacea and Redness IPL treatment improve?
Depending on your skin and treatment plan, Iris Dye-VL may help improve the appearance of:
Persistent facial redness
Rosacea-related redness
Red cheeks
Redness around the nose
Facial flushing
Facial thread veins
Iris Dye-VL treats visible redness and superficial vessels associated with rosacea. It does not treat every aspect of the condition. Patients experiencing inflammatory spots or eye symptoms may also need medical assessment and treatment.
Consultation
Your Rosacea and Redness IPL consultation
The required IPL consultation, skin analysis and patch test costs £50 and is fully redeemable against treatment.
Iris Dye-VL IPL treatment courses start from £920. Your practitioner will recommend the most suitable course and explain the full cost following your consultation and patch test.

The Treatment Process
What happens during treatment?
A consultation, skin analysis and patch test are required before your first treatment.
During the appointment, your skin will be cleansed before the Iris Dye-VL applicator is passed across the selected areas. You may experience warmth, tingling or a light snapping sensation.
Temporary redness, warmth or mild sensitivity may occur. Visible vessels or treated areas can sometimes appear darker before gradually fading. You will receive personalised aftercare advice, including guidance on gentle skincare, sun exposure and daily broad-spectrum SPF.

When will I see results?
Some patients notice a gradual reduction in visible redness and vessels as the skin settles after treatment. Further improvement may develop during the recommended course.
Smooth Dimensions offers courses of four or six treatments. The most appropriate course will depend on the extent of the redness, the vessels being treated and your individual response.
Rosacea can flare and new vessels may develop over time. Maintenance treatment, appropriate skincare, SPF and managing known triggers may therefore be recommended.
