Introduction
Polynucleotide Treatment in Essex
This injectable anti-ageing treatment is designed to improve skin quality and support skin health without adding volume or changing the shape of your features.
Treatment may be suitable if your skin appears tired, dehydrated, crepey or less elastic. It is also commonly used for fine lines and the delicate skin beneath the eyes. Every treatment begins with a personal consultation and skin assessment.
Treatment Overview
What Is Polynucleotide Treatment?
Polynucleotides are long chains of nucleotides, which are the building blocks of DNA. At Smooth Dimensions we use Plinest for this treatment. Plinest contains highly purified polynucleotides that are injected into selected areas of the skin.
Polynucleotides act as biostimulators, supporting the activity of fibroblasts involved in producing collagen and elastin. They are used to encourage skin regeneration, improve hydration and help the skin become smoother and more resilient.
Unlike dermal fillers, Plinest does not add facial volume or create new contours. Improvements develop gradually as the skin responds to treatment. Polynucleotides may appeal to people who want healthier-looking skin and natural changes rather than an obvious alteration to their appearance.

Plinest / Polynucleotides
How can Plinest improve skin quality?
Plinest polynucleotides may be recommended as part of an anti-ageing treatment plan for skin that has started to lose hydration, elasticity or firmness. It can also be used to improve the appearance of the skin.

Under-Eye Polynucleotides
Under-eye polynucleotides are popular because the skin beneath the eyes is naturally thin and often shows early signs of ageing.

Fine Lines & Skin Texture
Plinest may help improve fine lines, crepey texture, dull or tired-looking skin, dehrydration, uneven texture, reduced elasticity and early signs of ageing.

Polynucleotides for the Face, Neck and Hands
Plinest can be used across the face to improve general skin quality or target areas where fine lines and changes in texture are more noticeable.
Consultation
Your Polynucleotide consultation
Your consultation will include a review of your medical history, medication, previous treatments and current skin concerns. Your practitioner will assess your skin and explain the likely benefits, limitations, potential side effects and recommended treatment course.
You will have time to ask questions and consider whether Plinest is the right treatment for you. There is no pressure to proceed if you are unsure.

The Treatment Process
What happens during your treatment?
The skin will be cleaned before Plinest is administered. Patients may experience small raised bumps immediately afterwards.
Redness, tenderness, swelling or bruising may also occur, particularly around the eyes. These effects are normally temporary, and you will receive personalised aftercare advice before leaving the clinic. Appointments usually take 30 minutes.

When will I see my Polynucleotide results?
Polynucleotide results are gradual rather than immediate. Some people begin to notice better hydration or texture within a few weeks, with further changes developing as they complete their treatment course.
Smooth Dimensions usually recommends three treatments spaced approximately two to three weeks apart. Maintenance may then be considered every six months, depending on your skin, response and goals.
