Introduction

Sculptra Treatment in Essex

Sculptra is a regenerative biostimulator designed to stimulate your own collagen and elastin production, helping to improve firmness, skin quality, natural-looking volume and contour across the face and selected body areas.

Treatment Overview

What Is Sculptra?

Sculptra is an injectable anti-ageing treatment made with poly-L-lactic acid, also known as PLLA-SCA™. It acts as a collagen and elastin stimulator, encouraging the skin to strengthen and renew its underlying structure.

This regenerative approach helps improve the skin’s foundation rather than simply placing volume beneath an individual line or wrinkle. As collagen production increases, patients may notice gradual improvements in firmness, radiance, skin quality, shape and contour.

How it works

How Does Sculptra Work?

Collagen and elastin help give the skin strength, resilience and support. Their production naturally declines with age, contributing to skin laxity, reduced firmness and facial volume loss.

Sculptra is injected into selected areas, where it stimulates a regenerative response. The treatment gradually supports new collagen and elastin production, helping to improve skin health and restore a firmer, more refreshed appearance.

Is Sculptra a Dermal Filler?

Sculptra is sometimes grouped with dermal fillers because it is injectable, but it works differently. Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are placed to create or restore volume in a specific area. Sculptra is a biostimulator that encourages the body to produce more of its own collagen and elastin over time. It cannot be dissolved in the same way as a hyaluronic acid filler, making careful patient assessment and treatment planning particularly important.

How Can Sculptra Rejuvenate the Face and Body?

On the face, Sculptra may help improve:

Age-related facial volume loss

Flattening through the cheeks and midface

Skin laxity through the lower face

Reduced facial firmness

Loss of jawline definition

Overall skin quality and radiance

Sculptra may also be used on selected body areas to improve skin quality, firmness, contour and support. Depending on your concerns, treatment may be considered for areas such as the décolletage, upper arms, buttocks or backs of the thighs. The aim is progressive, natural-looking rejuvenation rather than an obvious or overfilled appearance.

Consultation

Your Sculptra Consultation and Prices

Your consultation will include a review of your medical history, medication, previous treatments and concerns. Your practitioner will assess your skin quality, facial or body structure and degree of collagen loss before recommending an individual treatment plan.

As a rule of thumb, most patients will need approximately one vial for each decade of age as part of their overall treatment plan. One or two vials will usually be administered to an individual treatment area during each appointment, with further treatments spaced approximately six to eight weeks apart. The total number of vials may be adjusted according to your anatomy, starting point, treatment area and goals.

Smooth Dimensions offers the following Sculptra treatment options: one vial ÂŁ350, two vials ÂŁ550 and three vials ÂŁ700.

Your practitioner will explain the recommended number of vials, appointments and likely overall cost during your consultation.

The Treatment Process

What happens during treatment?

The skin will be cleaned before Sculptra is administered to the selected areas. Facial appointments take approximately 45 minutes when one or two vials are used and around 60 minutes for three vials.

Temporary swelling, redness, tenderness or bruising can occur. You will receive personalised aftercare advice, which may include massaging the treated areas as instructed by your practitioner.

When will I see results?

Sculptra results are not immediate. Changes develop gradually as collagen and elastin production increase over the following weeks and months. Some patients begin to see improvements after approximately one month, with further changes developing progressively.

Results can last for up to two years, although longevity varies according to your age, skin, lifestyle and individual treatment plan. To help maintain the results, an annual maintenance treatment using one or two vials may be recommended.

Faqs

Sculptra FAQs

Have questions before booking? Here are the most common things patients ask about consultations, pricing, results, downtime and suitability.

Sculptra may be worthwhile if you want gradual improvements in firmness, volume and skin quality rather than an immediate filler result. Whether it represents good value will depend on your concerns, expectations and recommended treatment plan.

Results take time to develop and more than one appointment may be needed. Sculptra cannot be dissolved like hyaluronic acid filler. Temporary swelling, bruising and tenderness can occur, while less common complications include lumps, nodules and delayed inflammatory reactions.

Results can last for up to two years, although this varies between patients. Your age, skin condition, lifestyle and initial treatment plan can all affect longevity. An annual maintenance treatment using one or two vials may be recommended to help preserve the results.

As a rule of thumb, most patients will need approximately one vial for each decade of age as part of their overall treatment plan. One or two vials will usually be administered to an individual treatment area during each appointment. Further treatments are generally spaced six to eight weeks apart.

Neither treatment is universally better. Profhilo primarily focuses on hydration and skin quality. Sculptra is a regenerative collagen and elastin biostimulator used to improve firmness, support and natural-looking volume.

Sculptra may help improve firmness, support and contour through the lower face, which can soften the appearance of early jowling and reduced jawline definition. Results are gradual and natural-looking. It will not produce the same result as surgery or a treatment designed to reposition significant loose tissue.

Treatment may not be suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, when there is an active infection, or for people with certain medical conditions or medications. A full medical assessment is required.

You may be advised to massage the treated areas for a specified period after your appointment to help the product distribute evenly. Follow the personalised instructions provided by your practitioner. Avoid pressing or massaging the area more than recommended, and contact the clinic if you experience unexpected or persistent symptoms.
