Lip fillers
Achieve fuller, natural looking lips with dermal lip fillers
Our lips lose volume as we age. In fact, this starts to come into effect from our late twenties. But some people are also born with thinner lips, which they consider to be unattractive. By introducing small amounts of subtle, hyaluronic acid (HA) gel filler, we can enhance the lip shape and size, and can even create a more augmented cupid’s bow, if desired.
When considering lip fillers, you can be confident that less is certainly better than more. Naturally rejuvenated lips are far more desirable than the infamous dreaded “trout pout”.
To ensure that we achieve the right look for you, we offer a wide range of light hyaluronic acid-based fillers, which work to hydrate and revitalise the lips rather than simply bulking them out.

Frequently asked questions
At Smooth Dimensions we use the most advanced range of dermal fillers. Juvederm is a light smooth gel with inbuilt lidocaine, achieving natural looking results by reshaping the lips and adding subtle volume where needed. The new generation lip fillers such as Juvederm offer more elasticity to move with the patient’s individual facial expressions giving a natural, soft look.
This treatment is suitable for most. Medical history will be discussed during the initial consultation. It is important in the initial consultation to have a full discussion in respect of your desired outcome. Our Advanced Aesthetic Nurse, Fiona, will then advise on the most suitable treatment.
The treated area is very likely to swell as the lips are extremely vascular and it is common to have some bruising post operatively. This should subside after a few days though but may require some follow up treatment. You should arrange to have dermal fillers well in advance of a specific occasion to allow time for healing if issues arise.
You will have an in-depth, one to one consultation with our Aesthetic Nurse, Fiona, to assess your suitability for lip enhancements and to discuss what kind of results you are hoping to achieve from your lip filler treatment.
Once this has been determined, we can then choose the right lip filler for you from our wide range of hyaluronic acid-based lip fillers. Two of the most popular HA lip fillers we reach use in the clinic are Juvederm Smile and Volift, which are designed to keep the lip area looking naturally beautiful.
On the day of your treatment, a topical anaesthetic cream will be applied to the treatment area and then local anaesthetic will be used to numb the lips. Although the local anaesthetic injection will sting a little, no further discomfort will be felt after this. We are prepared to give you sufficient time for topical or injection anaesthetic to work.
Lip filler treatments create an instant effect, but the results will improve as the product settles and integrates with the facial tissue.
Results usually last up to 6 – 12 months and therefore are not permanent. This means the look can be amended and altered over time to suit your preferences. This is not to say that you will not get longevity from your lip filler treatment at Smooth Dimensions.
Patients can have treatment as and when they see fit, but it’s important to allow adequate time for the treatment to settle before considering another treatment.
